The invention relates to cableways for transporting people or goods by air.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of clamping the rope.
FIG. 1 shows a device for clamping and automatic gripping of a rope with a closed clamping device; in fig. 2 - the same, with an open clamping device; in fig. 3 - the same, top view.
The device contains a clamping device 1, consisting of a fixed cheek 2 and a movable cheek 3, pivotally hinged relative to each other at point 4 and designed for clamping the drive cable 5. The fixed cheek 2 is continued in a horizontal position by a pin 6 for the support 7 of the crew ( not shown), for example, multi-seat car.
The end of the bearing pin 6 between the non-movable cheek 2 and the car lever 7 carries the pads 8 in the lateral directions on opposite sides of the two protrusions on which the slip wheels 9 rest on the guide rails 10 and the freely rotating unit 11 located above the cheeks 2 and 3 ..
The other free end of the support pin 6 is provided with at least one sliding wheel 12, also slidable along the guide rail 13.
The movable jaw 3 is extended by a control lever 14, the free end of which ends with a square element 15, is rounded and supports a rotating element of a wheel 16 interacting with shaped guide surfaces 17 and coinciding with the guide rails 13 at the stations. The radius of closure of the square element 15 is somewhat less than the radius of the wheel 16.
Between the support pin 6 and the control lever 14, there are two elastic devices or coil springs 18, guided by the respective rods 19, pivotally connected on one side at point 20 to control lever 14, and on the other side passed through shaped plate 21 that are articulated at point 22 with bearing pin 6.

Separate cars (not shown) are clamped by means of a clamping device 1 in its closed position on the drive cable 5 (Fig. 1), which, in the case of a single-unit installation, acts in the same way as a haul rope.
The wheels 9 are aligned with the guides 10 and the freely rotating unit 11 interacts, for example, with a set of wheels 28 for gradually braking the car. At the same time, the wheel 16 located on the lever 14 interacts with the shaped guide 17 located above it, which causes it to move downwards. As a result, the clamping device 1 (Fig. 2) opens, which is caused by the rotation of the movable cheek 3 near the pivot. By sliding the rods 19 due to the presence of the hinged joints 20 and 22 it is possible to compress the springs 18.
Then, the car is transported by a known method to the departure position, in which the second set of wheels is present with increasing speed.
